NAME YOUR FEELINGS
In working with my clients recently, we’ve been talking a lot about “What to do with all the feelings? Along with thoughts and questions about what we should or shouldn’t feel and what to do with the feelings!?”
Whatever you are feeling… It’s okay!
Feelings are. Period end of sentence.
We need to name them, without shame for what we are feeling…
Anger
Angsty
Anxiety
Depression
Disoriented
Disappointment
Frustrated
Fearful
Grief
Overwhelmed
Sad
Tense
Tired
Volatile
Vulnerable…
Let yourself have ALL. THE. FEELS!
💕
Write them down to get them out.
It’s okay to feel whatever you are feeling.
Then, decide what the next right thing is and do that.
Staying in your feelings can be overwhelming, so with grace and gentleness, get up from your chair, change your scenery, practice some self care, and then take productive action of some sort!
You won’t feel like it… but being productive will help- I promise.
Clean a drawer out, fold some laundry, dust something.
Color, doodle, dance…
Just get active in some way so your feelings aren’t the loudest thing for a bit.
We are getting through this together – one step, one choice, one moment at a time.
What is your loudest feeling right now?
What activity can you do to live with this feeling and not let it overwhelm you?
Me: I’m feeling vulnerable because so am high risk.
I wrote about it in my journal.
Activity: I am headed out for a walk to clear my head and then it’s back to work. Giving to others helps me when my feelings get LOUD!
Okay… your turn…
