brene brown postIncredible truth…

She could never go back and make some of the details pretty. All she could do was move forward and make the whole beautiful.” Terri St. Cloud, quoted by Brene Brown

We rehearse the failures and mistakes of our past…picking the scars open… over and over again.

…reminders of pain, markers of shame, signs of failure.

What if we stopped rehearsing and opening these wounds and began to them heal…

And then…begin to “move forward and make the whole thing beautiful.”

Honestly, most of us are afraid we can’t…

let go…heal…move forward…

let alone make things beautiful….

We doubt ourselves wondering…

      if we can grow beyond the past hurts, mistakes, failures

       if we can let go of shame, change the tape that plays relentlessly in our heads

afraid to believe change let alone beauty is possible.

But deep inside, we desire beauty, change, growth, freedom… and so we hope.

and that is the perfect place to start.

Hope looks forward…

with open hands unburdened by the past…

…and takes a step

… and then another,

…and beauty begins to grow.

If you haven’t read Brene Brown.. you need to! She is brilliant, writes with authentic and a sense of warmth that I love!

Today she posted this picture and it lined up with my passion- helping you create a a Better Relationship with yourself, God and others!

I was moved to write a post, because…

I have looked back far too often, clenched hands afraid to let go, uncertain that if I didn’t have my past, my hurts, my defining scars – if I let them go -what would I have?

… was hope enough?

Years of stops and starts – each time getting a bit further toward beautiful, my heart was captivated by hope.

So here I am, on the journey with you…

sometimes a few steps further on the path, offering a light so you don’t fall in the same potholes I did, or a hand to help you out.mm

sometimes… running to catch up to your light beaming with your hope and beauty…

sometimes… sitting still, quietly looking for the strength to continue on in hope…

She could never go back and make some of the details pretty. All she could do was move forward and make the whole beautiful.” Terri St. Cloud

Living by these words will dramatically improve your relationship with yourself- which impacts every area of your life!!
